drawing a 2nd land after keeping a 1 lander is the burn equivalent of Library of Alexandria.

Thanks for the video! I have been playing this 75 of Boros Burn and have been following this guide:
Rhinos In:4 Roiling vortex, 4 Exquisite firecraft. Out:4 Searing Blaze, 4 Rift Bolt. Try to cast instant speed burn on their upkeep unless you are trying to bait out a force to resolve a vortex.
Living End In:4 Roiling vortex, 4 Exquisite firecraft. Out:4 Searing Blaze, 4 Rift Bolt. Try to cast instant speed burn on their upkeep unless you are trying to bait out a force to resolve a vortex.
Yawgmoth In:4 Searing Blood. Out:4 Goblin Guide. Consdier cutting some number of swiftspear for firecraft on the draw.
Scam In:4 Searing Blood. Out:4 Lightning Helix. While helix isnt terrible game one still worth cutting between ragavan and dauthi.
Murktide In:4 Exquisite Firecraft. Out:4 Skewer the critics. If they are on Ragavan, try some blood for Helix on the play.
Would you recommend any changes? I struggle with living end the most, and with scan still being popular, I am seeing a lot of Sanctifiers, which this side board doesn't have a answer for.

Hey I'm not mengu but I played burn for quite some time and maybe I can help you on some of these a bit :)
It's true that exquisite firecraft is great against decks that counterspell but you should be careful not to over-sideboard it. The problem is that living end and rhinos "only" play 4x Force of Negation as counterspell and they usually wanna keep it up for your vortex. I think its fine putting in 1-2 firecrafts but not the full set. The full set would be against control/murktide etc. which run a lot more counters. I would cut all Searing Blazes in the cascade matchups for vortex and a couple of rift bolts/ skewer for the firecrafts
For Yawgmoth cutting creatures is okay since they have a bunch of blockers but I would cut swiftspear before goblin guide, since GG tends to do more dmg earlier in the game where it is supposed to shine
Scam sideboard seems fine although you might wanna board in some wear//tear or smash to smithereens since they are playing chalice which can kick you out of the game immediately
However I also dont really like the sideboard used in this list since you have 3-4 copies of a spell and thus tend to overboard. For example 1-2 copies of ex. firecraft against rhinos/living end are nice like mentioned above but you should look at them more like a finisher then a spell you are burning them down with. 3 mana for 4 damage is just terrible in the general case. I like to run a sideboard with 2-3x copies of cards I need in order to not draw a hand with 3x path to exile for example.
My burn list looks a bit different since I am playing no eidolons main but therefore 4 roiling vortex. Eidolons just never seemed to do it for me but it also depends on your meta etc.
      In my sideboard I play
2x Ex. Firecraft, 3x Smash to Smithereens, 1x Wear//Tear, 3x Searing Blood, 2x Deflecting Palm (pls dont hate me mengu I love that card), 3x Sanctifier, 1x Path to Exile
However the sideboard depends HEAVILY on your meta which is also why burn rewards good meta knowledge. For example if you have cascade decks in your LGS or whereever you play you can even play 2x chalice of the void in the sideboard, if your meta is full of amulet/hammer pilots play a playset of deflecting palm etc.
      I hope that helped a bit :)

So, ironically, I care a lot about meta-relevant cards being printed on mtgo, even tho I haven't touched my modo account in like five years: My only exposure to Legacy and Vintage is via spectating on RUclips (thank you Mengu!!!), so if they don't print the cards on modo I never even get to see them played in eternal formats 😢

Modern burn doesnt need PoP. It needs fireblast or something similar. Chain lightning would be nice too but every deck plays "free" spells. Burn doesnt have that. So either fireblast or the red card from the flare cycle should deal direct dmg. Chain at the bare minimum

      @Torch_of_Sin 8 месяцев назад +1

@dummyroll01 Probably not. Personally, I would prefer Fireblast because modern burn should get its own version of a free spell. Plus boros burn is unique to modern and Price of Progress would turn burn into a mono red deck, just like legacy.

34:43 forget Wear, you should've bolted the Inkmoth Nexus right here, as soon as they sac'd the Ravager. I'm a Scales player myself and I was screaming at my computer screen when your opponent started wiping their board to pump the Nexus. You do NOT do that when the opponent is playing Burn, has 5 cards in hand, 2 untapped lands and there's no Ozolith in play lol
By bolting the Nexus as soon as the Ravager died, if they don't have a protection spell, they're left with a nearly empty board and nothing to work with. And even if they DO cast something like a Veil of Summer, you'll just take a Nexus hit on their turn and THEN you can kill it with Wear - sure, they may have a second protection spell in hand, but in that case you'd be screwed regardless.
